Heineman, Pender lead Class D golf championships after one day in North Platte

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- Quinton Heineman and Pender are on top after the opening day of the Class D state golf championships at Lake Maloney Golf Club.

Heineman shot a 1-over 73 to take the individual lead, while he and Pendragons find themselves at the top of the team standings. Heineman is one shot ahead of Perkins County's Zaybreon Hansen.

Pender is nine shots ahead of Overton in the team race.

The final day of the event begins Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. CT.
