Man dies from explosion in Madison farming accident

MADISON, Neb. -- A man reportedly died in Madison from a farming accident where he was repairing a tire.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department said officers and Madison Fire and Rescue were sent to farm around 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday for a reported farm accident.

Officers said a man was fixing a large tractor tire when both the tire and rim exploded. The man reportedly received a serious blunt force injury from the explosion.

According to authorities, they began life-saving measures but the man died at the scene.

Officials said the man was 38-year-old Miguel Cardenas Pena and the incident is under investigation.
