Diop announces commitment to Nebraska basketball

The Nebraska basketball team has scored a late addition to the 2023-24 roster.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Nebraska basketball team has scored a late addition to the 2023-24 roster.

Senegal native Matar Diop announced his commitment to the Huskers via social media on Sunday. He had received an offer from Nebraska earlier in the month.

Diop is a 6-foot-8, 210 pound post player. The 19-year-old grew up in Africa but most recently played at Keystone Athletic Academy in Erie, Pennsylvania.

He had also received offers from Arizona State, Ole Miss and Seton Hall.
