LPD looking for suspects of attempted robbery
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department said they are looking for three suspects in an attempted robbery.
Around 9:50 p.m. on Friday, officers were called to the 1600 block of D Street on the report of a robbery.
LPD said officers spoke with a 33-year-old male who described a group of unknown teens who accused him of parking in a family member's stall.
Authorities said the victim agreed to move his vehicle but was assaulted and had his wallet and phone taken.
LPD said the suspects left in a white sedan.
Officials said around 10:15 p.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of S 14th on the report of a robbery attempt.
LPD said a 26-year-old female victim said after she parked her car she was approached by three unknown teenage males.
Officials said the victim told them that one of the suspects demanded she hands over her belongings, but she threw her slushie at him as a distraction. She was able to get back into her car and locked her doors.
LPD said the males fled as she contacted police.
Officials said the car they were observed leaving the area in was a 2015 Hyundai Sonata, reported stolen out of Valley, NE.
Authorities said on Saturday at 8:50 a.m. officers were called to the area of 58th & Lillibridge on the report of a car abandoned in the street.
The located vehicle was the stolen Sonata. Arriving officers also took the report of a 2019 Hyundai Elantra taken from the 5900 block of Lillibridge.
LPD said that the vehicle was located later in the day by Omaha Police in the 800 block of N 46th Street in Omaha.
