NORFOLK, Neb. -- Northeast and east-central Nebraska woke up to intense fog Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for 14 counties until 8 a.m. CT.

That means visibility of a quarter mile or less in those areas.

Officials advise taking it easy on the roads in such conditions.

Visibility began to improve around 7:00 a.m., with the fog expected to be lifted by 9:00 a.m.

Thurston, Pierce, Wayne, Boone, Madison, Stanton, Cuming, Burt, Platte, 
Colfax, Dodge, Washington, Butler and Saunders Counties are under the advisory.
