STANTON, Neb. -- The Stanton County Sheriff's Office said they arrested a 57-year-old Norfolk woman after a traffic stop for expired tags.

SCSO said they pulled the woman over around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, near the Dollar General on Highway 24, for having expired tags on her vehicle.

During the stop, the Sheriff's Office said they found the woman didn't have proof of insurance on the vehicle.

Authorities said she then refused to cooperate, as well as refused commands because it appeared she was going to get back into her vehicle and drive off.

SCSO said she was then physically restrained and continued to struggle when assistance arrived.

The Norfolk woman was reportedly subdued and handcuffed.

She was booked at the Sheriff's Office for the traffic offenses and obstructing a police officer.

The woman was released on a cash bond, and will appear in court next month.

SCSO said her vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.
