NEBRASKA -- The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Resources warns that snap recipients are having their cards targeted.

The DHHS sent out a press release Monday saying it was aware of fraudulent card skimming activities.

Skimming uses technology illegally installed on terminals to capture PIN numbers and data.

The press release said this scheme may have resulted in the user's SNAP EBT card information becoming compromised.

DHHS said they are working with their partners to protect SNAP benefits and combat fraudulent activities.

To prevent fraud on your EBT account, your PIN should be changed often, your card should be frozen between transactions, and your transaction history should be checked often.
