Air Quality Advisory issued for northeast and central Nebraska
The Department of Health and Human Services has issued another air quality alert for northeastern and central Nebraska. The advisory was issued for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The advisory was issued for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Smoke associated from the Canadian wildfires has been effecting parts of Nebraska for the last few months.
Norfolk Fire Chief Tim Wragge informed the public on the best steps you can take during the advisory.
"I think right now we are seeing as these conditions come and go from the Canadian wildfires," Wragge said. "The biggest thing we want to encourage people to remember is if you already have pre-existing heart or respiratory conditions that already make you sensitive to breathing issues or allergens, try to avoid any strenuous activity outside the building. If you start to experience symptoms, get inside to fresh air. But as always, if those conditions get worse, let us know. Call 911."
An advisory of possible moderate to unhealthy air quality index impacts may occur in northeastern and central Nebraska; potentially effecting Columbus, Grand Island, Lincoln, Norfolk, Omaha, O'Neill, Valentine, Wayne, and surrounding areas during the afternoon on Tuesday, Aug. 29, through Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023.
