NEBRASKA -- The Nebraska State Patrol encourages drivers to travel safely during the Labor Day weekend.
NSP said to be aware of the hot temperatures expected over the weekend as they could reach triple digits in many areas of Nebraska.
They recommend all drivers take extra water and make sure phones are charged to call for help if necessary.
Officials said NSP troopers made 119 arrests for impaired driving and gave citations to 112 drivers speeding at or above 100 mph throughout August. They helped over 1,100 motorist as well.
