Woman arrested for reported assault with bat in northeast Nebraska

A woman was arrested in northeast Nebraska after she reportedly assaulted her daughter with a bat.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A woman was arrested in northeast Nebraska after she reportedly assaulted her daughter with a bat.

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office said officers were sent to a home in Woodland Park around 6:00 p.m. on Monday for a report of a disturbance.

Officers said 38-year-old Bethany Van Duzer and her adult daughter were having an altercation when Duzer reportedly hit her daughter in the head with an aluminum bat.

According to authorities, the daughter was treated at the scene for her injury but she declined being taken to the hospital. Duzer was reportedly arrested for second-degree assault and disturbing the peace.
