Firefighter awarded by Noon Optimists of Norfolk
Firefighter and paramedic Chris Kneifl was awarded as Firefighter of the Year from the Noon Optimists of Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska firefighter was awarded by the Noon Optimist Club of Norfolk.
The Noon Optimists awarded the Firefighter of the Year award to Kris Kneifl Monday.
A full-time paramedic and fighter with Norfolk Fire for four years, Kneifl was described by Noon Optimist Mark Claussen as a man of few words; but as someone who always listens and helps to find a solution.
"I have known Chris for approximately six years and his high quality of work, attention to detail and a lifetime of service exemplify what it takes to be at the top in this line of work," Claussen said reading from a submitted letter.
Kneifl was praised for his efforts to go above and beyond what was required, like signing up for extra shifts, answering callbacks, and his efforts during the COVID pandemic.
Kneifl received the award and a round of applause from fellow firefighters.
