Body reportedly found in chimney in Norfolk

The Norfolk Police Division says they are investigating an alleged body found in a chimney.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Norfolk Police Division says they are investigating an alleged body found in a chimney.

NPD said they were notified of a possible body lodged in a chimney in the 1400 block of South 3rd St. around 6:15 p.m.

Officers and Norfolk Fire responded to the scene and was able to extricate the body from the chimney. 

Authorities said that an autopsy will be scheduled for the positive identification of the victim.

The initial investigation indicates that this is the result of an accidental incident, but police said they are reviewing all avenues. 

NPD said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
