Breaker fire damages home, kills pet

A northeast Nebraska home is damaged after an early morning fire.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska home is damaged after an early morning fire. 

It happened in the 300 block of S 12th St. just south of downtown. 

Norfolk Fire officials say the fire was found in a breaker panel on the house. 

Crews found the flames in the basement. 

The residents were able to get out, while a pet perished, no other injuries were reported. 

The exact cause of the fire is still being being investigated.
