STANTON COUNTY, Neb. — Stanton County Sheriff’s Office arrested the 32 year old Houston man Friday afternoon believed to be in the country illegally.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger said at around 3:00, deputies pulled over a car headed southbound on Highway 15 around eight miles south of Pilger.

The driver, Delvin Eberado Velasquez-Romero, 32, had no driver’s license and had fictitious Texas decals on his windows.

Unger said the driver spoke limited English and confirmed his identity with a fingerprint instrument.

After questioning Velasquez-Romero, deputies found he was wanted on five felony charges out of Benton County, Indiana.

He was jailed on the felony arrest warrant and is pending extradition back to Indiana.

Authorities believe Delvin Eberado Velasquez-Romero to be in the United States illegally.

“This is an example of diligent police work by a deputy on patrol in a remote portion of the county doing what he was hired and trained to do,” Sheriff Mike Unger said.
