One person sent to hospital after downtown Norfolk crash

One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash at a downtown Norfolk intersection on Tuesday afternoon.

NORFOLK, Neb. —  One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash at a downtown intersection in Norfolk on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Norfolk Police, it happened at around 3:44 p.m. at the intersection of 4th St. and Madison Ave.

A pick-up truck traveling northbound on 4th St. collided with a van heading westbound on Madison Ave.

The accident sent both vehicles into the crosswalk.

The driver of the van sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The pick-up truck driver declined medical transport.

Norfolk Police said both vehicles sustained damage and are believed to be totaled.

Preliminary investigations shows that one of the vehicles may have run a red light, leading to the collision.

According to Norfolk Police, no property damage was done to the Good Neighbors of Norfolk building.

Norfolk Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and citations may be issued pending the outcome.
