Pilot from Norfolk's Monday night crash identified

The pilot, who died in a plane crash in Norfolk Monday evening, has been identified by law enforcement.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- The pilot, who died in a plane crash in Norfolk Monday evening, has been identified by law enforcement. 

The Norfolk Police Division identified the pilot as 37-year-old Phillip Widner of Bedford, Texas. 

The plane Widner was flying was a twin engine Beech C99.

Widner worked for Ameriflight and was delivering packages to Omaha. 

He landed at the airport at 7:09 p.m. and departed at 7:35 p.m. The accident happened at 7:39 p.m.

Law enforcement said there were several witnesses to the accident.
