NORFOLK, Neb. -- The town of Norfolk is continuing to grow with new visitors and residents each month. In hopes of accommodating a fun and family environment,  the Parks and Recreation department is doing its best to keep up with the demand of new things to do. With the ice rink almost finished and ready for skaters, They have decided to add a Nature Playground. 

Director of Norfolks Parks and Recreation an emphasized, "Like most parks, you have your traditional playgrounds, such as slides, monkey bars, and swings. The nature playground will offer all things natural for kids to enjoy. Kids can play with real logs, rocks, and water features that you can't find at most play grounds."

Johnson Park has come along way and has also added white water rafting, a new fountain with lights, river lights with seasonal color changes, a concessions stand, and a brand new ice rink for multiple winter activities.

Assistant Director of Norfolks Parks and Recreation says, "With the winter approaching, this about wraps up Johnson Parks newest and other improved developments. The Ice rink should be ready by Thanksgiving weekend depending on the weather. If all goes well according to our schedule, residents can expect the nature playground along with all other park projects to be finished by Dec. 1.
