NORFOLK, Neb. -- Traffic on a northeast Nebraska road was limited for hours over the weekend after a gasoline spill.

It happened at a Casey's Convenience Store along Norfolk Ave. in Norfolk Sunday morning, just before 8:40.

Norfolk Fire Division said about 100 gallons of gasoline had spilled in the parking lot of the gas station, eventually running into Norfolk Ave.

Fire officials evacuated the gas station and shut down traffic in the area while they used Floor Dry Absorbent to soak up the spill.

Several firefighters and equipment remained on the scene for about four hours for fire protection and to assist Norfolk City Street Department in cleanup.

No injuries were reported.
