Firefighters extinguish morning house fire in Oakdale

OAKDALE Neb- A northeast Nebraska family is wondering what caused a fire at their home on Thursday morning.

It happened around 10:45 in Oakdale. Two people were in the house with their two dogs sleeping, when they smelled smoke. They all got out safely and called the fire department. Firefighters contained the small blaze within 45 minutes with assistance from neighboring fire departments. 

Investigators are still working to determine the cause.
