Passenger swims ashore after boat catches fire on Branched Oak Lake

The passenger of a boat on Branched Oak Lake had to swim to shore after it caught fire Thursday morning.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) - The passenger of a boat on Branched Oak Lake had to swim to shore after it caught fire Thursday morning.

Raymond Fire and Rescue were called to the lake in northwest Lancaster County at just after 11 a.m. A photo showed the boat up in flames in the middle of the lake.

Nobody was injured in the fire, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

LSO and Nebraska Game and Parks are on scene investigating the incident.
