Norfolk is hosting its 42nd annual National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 5th, neighborhoods throughout Norfolk are being invited to join with thousands of communities nationwide for the 42nd annual National Night Out Crime and drug prevention event.

NORFOLK, Neb.- On Tuesday, August 5th, neighborhoods throughout Norfolk are being invited to join with thousands of communities nationwide for the 42nd annual National Night Out Crime and drug prevention event.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Norfolk Police Division.

The event is free and will be held at Central Park in Norfolk. Representatives from the Norfolk Police, Nebraska State Patrol, Norfolk Fire and Rescue, and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office will visit with citizens and provide demonstrations.

Nearly 40 civic and service organizations will also be at the event. Along with that, free food will be donated by Norfolk businesses and activities for kids and families.
