Norfolk police officer resigns following DUI arrest
A Norfolk police officer accused of driving under the influence is resigning from his post.

NORFOLK, Neb. — A Norfolk police officer accused of driving under the influence is resigning from his post.
The Norfolk Police Division announced Monday afternoon that Joshua Schlote’s resignation is effective immediately.
Authorities arrested Schlote and his wife for DUI early Sunday morning. Norfolk Police responded to the scene initially but turned the case over to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
A news release says Schlote was a recently hired certified officer and was serving his probationary period.
Court documents regarding the DUI case were not yet available as of Monday afternoon.
