Medical helicopter transports one after Highway 81 crash

Norfolk, Neb.- One person has been flown to a hospital by medical helicopter after an accident involving a semi truck on Highway 81 in northeast Nebraska.

A semi-truck and an SUV collided outside of Norfolk around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. It happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 81 near Industrial Highway.

Authorities on scene say one person who was in the SUV airlifted from the scene. The driver of the semi wasn't seriously hurt.

With debris scattered across the northbound of the highway, the SUV was resting off the road and the front left tire was disconnected from the car.

The crash is under investigation.
