NORFOLK,Neb.- Authorities were telling residents in Norfolk to avoid one of the highest traffic areas in town after a late morning crash.

It happened on the U-S 81 viaduct on Wednesday morning in a construction zone.

A worker at the scene told news channel Nebraska that a semi carrying an oversized load got stuck in the reduced-width lanes of the construction zone.

Madison County authorities sent out an emergency alert telling drivers to avoid the area...as the southbound lanes were completely blocked...and traffic was backing up into the nearby intersection with Highway 275.

A Bobcat forklift was seen on scene extending concrete barriers that separate traffic lanes and the construction zone, creating a safe distance between both lanes.

There is no word on any injuries.
