Man breaks into Norfolk church, police say

A Norfolk man is behind bars for breaking into a local church, authorities say.

NORFOLK, Neb.-- A Norfolk man is behind bars for breaking into a local church, authorities say. 

Gregory Major, 34, was seen entering Grace Lutheran Church around 3 a.m. Monday morning on camera and not leaving, according to police. 

Norfolk police say they found Major in a basement bathroom of the church around 10 a.m. with a garbage bag filled with items belonging to the church and a small bag of methamphetamine. 

Major was arrested on charges of burglary and possession of a controlled substance and is housed at Madison County Jail.
