LAUREL, Neb. — In a unique effort to bolster its community, the small rural town of Laurel in Northeast Nebraska has launched Logan Creek Vintage and Thrift, a store with a mission focused on community support rather than profit.

Operated entirely by volunteers, the non-profit accepts and curates a wide array of donated items, pricing them affordably to offer residents unique pieces for their homes.

"All of the proceeds from items sold are given back to the community," said Ashley Jelinek, Board President of Logan Creek Vintage & Thrift.

The store boasts an eclectic mix of goods, including clothing, shoes, Christmas decorations, jewelry, electronics, games, and puzzles.

The store's first community donation was a check to the Laurel Veterans Club, earmarked for the construction of a veterans memorial. The board plans to assist numerous organizations in Laurel, provide scholarships, and support families in need as more donations come in.

Jelinek emphasized that, despite the challenges faced by many small towns, Laurel is uniting behind this new venture: "a priceless beacon of positivity."
