STATEWIDE, Neb.— A High Wind Warning is in effect Thursday for all of Nebraska except for seven counties in the southeast corner of the state.

Gusty southerly winds have been sweeping Nebraska Wednesday, but stronger northwest winds are set to arrive Thursday.

Because of this likelihood, the National Weather Service issued a High Wind Warning from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday.

Gusts are expected to reach up to 50-65 mph with the overall highest winds expected across the northern part of the state.

The peak time for strongest gusts should hit between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Given the lack of moisture across the area, blowing dust will also be possible.

Near-critical fire weather conditions will also be possible across north central Kansas.
