NORFOLK, Neb. — Two Norfolk residents were appointed to statewide leadership positions within the Nebraska Republican Party during the party’s State Central Committee meeting held in Kearney last week.

Rick Benson was confirmed as assistant chairman of the Nebraska Republican Party. Benson has served in local party leadership, including as secretary of the Madison County Republican Party, and has been active in grassroots Republican organizing in northeast Nebraska.

Toni Hoefler was appointed assistant secretary of the Nebraska Republican Party. Hoefler has been involved in party leadership in Madison County.

The State Central Committee also elected Greg Epp, chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party, as treasurer of the Nebraska Republican Party. Epp succeeds David Plond, who was recognized for his service and contributions to the party.

Additional leadership actions included the election of Dave Brodahl of Saunders County as Congressional District 2 member-at-large and the appointment of Pam Swenson of Cass County as secretary of the Nebraska Republican Party.

Party leaders said the appointments fill key executive roles as the party prepares for upcoming election cycles.
