An Illinois man is behind bars after Nebraska State troopers find 12 pounds of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop in in central Nebraska

KEARNEY, Neb. - An Illinois man is behind bars after Nebraska State troopers find 12 pounds of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop in in central Nebraska.


According to a press release troopers say they saw a sedan speeding over 100 miles-per-hour on I-80 near Kearney.


Troopers say they conducted a traffic stop where they then became suspicious of criminal activity.


The release states officers conducted a search of the vehicle where they found 12 pounds of suspected meth hidden inside the body of the car.


NSP says they arrested 50-year-old George Watson of poplar Grove Illinois on possession with intent to deliver along multiple other drug charges.


He is currently lodged in the Buffalo County Jail.
