STANTON COUNTY, Neb. — A Norfolk woman was arrested late Wednesday for driving more than 100 mph on Highway 275 near Pilger, according to police.

The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy observed a vehicle traveling 103 mph in a posted 65 mph zone just before midnight.

Lisa Wortmann of Norfolk, 38, was stopped and later determined to be intoxicated, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office said Wortmann refused to cooperate with deputies and was physically subdued before being taken into custody.

While being booked at the sheriff’s office, she allegedly refused a chemical breath test and continued to act out, including spitting saliva inside the office.

Wortmann was jailed on suspicion of speeding, driving while intoxicated, refusal of a chemical test, and resisting and obstructing arrest.

She remains in custody pending the posting of a cash bond.
