Troopers Find 242 LBs of Cocaine in Commercial Truck Inspection

LEXINGTON, Neb. — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested one person Tuesday after locating more than 240 pounds of suspected cocaine during a commercial vehicle inspection on Interstate 80.

An NSP Carrier Enforcement trooper conducted the inspection near mile marker 254 when he became suspicious of possible criminal activity.

A state patrol K-9 alerted to the presence of a controlled substance inside the cab of the semi. A subsequent search uncovered 242 pounds of suspected cocaine concealed beneath the sleeper berth.

The driver, Arwinderjit Singh, 30, of Manteca, California, was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver, possession of an open alcohol container and displaying a fictitious license plate. He was lodged in the Dawson County Jail.
