LINCOLN - The surprise of the state football championships came on Tuesday morning in the Class C1 Final.

Wahoo shutout Pierce 38-0 to claim the program's first ever state title.

Not only was the score eye-catching, but also the fact the Wahoo out-rushed the Bluejays 342-85, while forcing five turnovers.

Wahoo senior running back Trevin Luben dominated the ground game, running for 270 yards and all five of the Warriors' touchdowns on 41 carries.

Pierce's pair of 1,500 yard rushers in Carson Oestreich and Brett Tinker were held to a combined 64 yards on 20 carries.
