NORFOLK, Neb. – The superintendent of Norfolk Public Schools has been added as a finalist for Millard Public Schools. It is the second time in the past month that Dr. Jami Jo Thompson has been named as a primary candidate for one of the state’s largest school districts.

Thompson, who has been with Norfolk Public Schools since 2013, is also on the shortlist of candidates for the superintendent at Lincoln Public Schools, which was announced last month.

Seward superintendent Josh Fields and Norris superintendent John Schwartz are also among the finalists for the Millard position.

LPS finalists besides Thompson include Nebraska Wesleyan assistant professor Antwan Wilson, Sioux City, Iowa, superintendent Paul Gausman and Peter Licata, a superintendent from Palm Beach, Florida.

The Millard school bard is expected to make its decision on February 10, while the Lincoln school board’s decision is expected on February 22.

Both school boards are expected to make their announcements at upcoming school board meetings, with Millard conducting public interviews with the finalists.
