Omaha company fires employee after departing flight forced to return to gate

Omaha company Buildertrend said Wednesday in a statement posted online that it had fired an employee a day after they were part of a group of passengers that forced a departing flight to return to the gate at Eppley Airfield.

OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha company Buildertrend said Wednesday in a statement posted online that it had fired an employee a day after they were part of a group of passengers that forced a departing flight to return to the gate at Eppley Airfield.

Delta confirmed its flight bound for LaGuardia Airport returned to the gate Tusday because of a group of disruptive passengers who were subsequently removed from the flight.

Buildertrend on Tuesday responded to tweets about the incident, calling the reports "distressing."

Buildertrend is a construction management software company.
