Couple arrested following disturbance in Stanton

Two people are facing charges after an incident in northeast Nebraska.

STANTON, Neb. -- Two people are facing charges after an incident in northeast Nebraska. 

The Stanton County Sheriff's office said they got a call of a disturbance in Stanton Tuesday morning. 

A woman was found at the home told authorities she had been assaulted by a man inside. 

The Sheriff's office said 40-year-old Edward Schmitz, of Stanton was arrested for domestic assault. He was jailed pending the posting of a cash bond. 

In addition, 36-year-old Lindsey Jensen of Neola, Iowa was found in possession of meth. 

She was booked on the felony drug charge and has an initial court appearance next month.
