Threat evacuation at South Sioux City Schools

Several schools in northeast Nebraska have been evacuated after reports of a threat.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb.-- Several schools in northeast Nebraska have been evacuated after reports of a threat. 

South Sioux City Community Schools said in a social media post, Monday, that just before 1 p.m. the South Sioux City High School and Middle Schools were evacuated due to a potential threat. 

The district is following established protocols and working with local law enforcement to investigate the validity of the threat. 

South Sioux City School Community Schools said that the schools will dismiss on time and the buses will still run after school and all after-school activities are canceled at the high school and middle school.

All students and staff are safe and there is no further information on the threat or the extent of the situation.
