NORFOLK, NE— The Zone Afterschool Program and North Fork Area Transit are working to gather school supplies for kids that will be given away at the Zone’s Rock the Block fundraiser on Saturday, August 6th.

The Zone is a non-profit organization for Norfolk youth in grades 7-12, allowing them to connect with adult mentors, get homework help, and build friendships.

The Rock the Block fundraiser at Central Park will offer games, food, inflatables, a raffle, and DJ playing hit songs. The event has been enhanced with the Trolley Takeover, and organizers say the goal is to fill the NFAT trolley full of school supplies

“Students of all ages who attend will be able to leave the event with a bag full of supplies and we are very appreciative that North Fork Area Transit was willing to partner with us,” said Alexis Huisman, Executive Director of the Zone.

“NFAT is proud to support the Zone Afterschool Program because these children are our future,” said Jeff Stewart, Executive Director of NFAT.

School supplies can be dropped off at The Zone, 218 W Braasch Ave, or at the trolley which will be set up at Walmart on Friday, July 22nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
