WSC volleyball holds on to #1 ranking; UNK moves up to #6

WAYNE, Neb. -- For the fifth consecutive week, Wayne State is ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division II volleyball rankings, while UNK moves back up to No. 6.
The Wildcats are the unanimous selection for the top spot for the fourth consecutive week, receiving all 47 first place votes. UNK inched closer to returning to the top five, jumping up two spots from last week.
Wayne State is 23-0 and 13-0 in the NSIC after posting home sweeps over the weekend against Mary and Minot State. The Wildcats are one of four NSIC squads in the top five. A total of five NSIC teams are ranked in the top seven.
WSC will host Sioux Falls Thursday at 6 p.m. followed by a Saturday 2 p.m. match at No. 5 Southwest Minnesota State.
UNK survived a five-set thriller at No. 19 Central Oklahoma last week, sandwiched between a pair of comfortable sweeps against Emporia State and Newman. UNK is one of four MIAA schools ranked in the top 25.
The Lopers will host Central Missouri and Missouri Western this week.
