Wayne State volleyball under consideration in first NCAA Central Region Rankings

WAYNE, Neb. --- Wayne State College is one of 10 teams under consideration in the first NCAA Division II Central Region Volleyball Rankings announced Wednesday afternoon by NCAA.
New this year for NCAA Division II sports with regional rankings is that schools will be listed as under consideration in alphabetical order for the first ranking of the season.
Wayne State is one of five NSIC schools listed in the rankings with a 23-1 NCAA record as of Monday, Oct. 24. The Central Region is comprised of 39 teams from the Northern Sun Conference, Great American Conference and Mid America Athletic Association with the top eight teams in the region advancing to the NCAA Division II National Tournament. The NCAA selection show is set for Sunday, November 13th at 9 p.m. Central Time on ncaa.com.
Wayne State improved to 25-1 on the season Tuesday evening with a 3-0 sweep over Augustana. The Wildcats, ranked 3rd in this week’s AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, will be at home Friday evening vs. Winona State at 6:00 p.m. and host Upper Iowa Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
