NORFOLK, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska neighborhood is cleaning up after a car flipped and landed near a home Thursday afternoon.

A mailbox and a home's railing were significantly damaged, and tracks could be seen on multiple yards after the accident in the 2300 block of Highland Avenue in Norfolk.

According to Norfolk Police, the crash happened at approximately 1:00 p.m.

Capt. Chad Reiman said the cause and charge was willful reckless driving. One person, a 18-year-old male, was hospitalized as a result of the incident with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police determined that the male was going at a significant speed to flip and travel a half block or so.

Residents from the neighborhood could still be seen observing the damage at 4:30 p.m.

NPD said the teen's vehicle was totaled as a result of the accident.

Reiman said that seatbelt use was unknown and there were no signs of alcohol impairment.
