Norfolk man arrested for alleged assault

A northeast Nebraska man is facing assault charges after an arrest on Friday in Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska man is facing assault charges after an arrest on Friday in Norfolk.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday, Norfolk Police officer were called to the 200 block of S. 13th Street for an assault report.

When NPD arrived, they had contact with a woman officers described as "distraught."

According to NPD Capt. Michael Bauer, the woman had dried blood near her mouth and dirt on her arm. She told officers that she was hit in the face and pulled out of a vehicle by her hair. She identified her alleged assailant 41-year-old Edgar A. Mora, of Norfolk.

Officers located Mora and spoke to him about the incident. He was then taken into custody on the charge of third-degree domestic assault. He was housed in the Norfolk City jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail
