NWS warnings and advisories winding down, though roads remain challenging

NORFOLK, Neb. -- National Weather Service alerts are starting to lift and ease in parts of Nebraska, though road conditions remain difficult in much of the state.
All of the state's ice storm warnings have been canceled by the National Weather Service. Coming into Tuesday morning, 33 Nebraska counties were under the ice storm warning.
After over half of the state had been in a winter storm warning, there are now just 10 counties in the warning. Cherry, Keya Paha, Brown, Boyd, Holt, Rock, Blaine, Loup, Garfield and Wheeler are the only counties still in a winter weather warning, with several counties now in winter weather advisories instead. A total of 33 counties are currently in winter weather advisories.
The warnings are primarily located in north central Nebraska and surrounding regions, while south central and southeast Nebraska are the predominately affected areas in the winter weather advisory.
Southeast Nebraska remains largely untouched, while central Nebraska's conditions were lighter than expected.
The alerts are currently scheduled to expire by Tuesday night.
That doesn't mean the roads don't have their challenges, with many of the state's highways currently closed or impassable.
