Norfolk man pulled over, arrested for meth amongst other charges
Authorities arrested a Norfolk man for drugs and other charges following a traffic stop on Tuesday.
NORFOLK, Neb. -- Authorities arrested a Norfolk man for drugs and other charges following a traffic stop on Tuesday.
The Norfolk Police Department said that around 11:50 p.m. they did a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2100 block of S. 13th and Highway 81.
NPD said that during the traffic stop, the officer learned that the driver of the vehicle, identified as 39-year-old Leobardo Saldana, had a suspended drivers license.
Police said that during a search of the vehicle, a plastic bag containing methamphetamine was found. A handgun was also reported to be found inside the vehicle.
During the investigation, NPD said that Saldana was found to be a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Saldana was booked into the Norfolk City Jail for driving under suspension, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
Saldana was later transported to the Madison County Jail.
