Farm accident takes life of West Point teen

Authorities said that a West Point teen died in a Cuming County farm accident Thursday afternoon.

WEST POINT, Neb. -- Authorities said that a West Point teen died in a Cuming County farm accident Thursday afternoon. 

The Cuming County Sheriff's Office said that 18-year-old Halle Kreikemeier was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Around 1:52 p.m. CCSO said the accident happened near 14 Road and A Road in Cuming County. 

Kreikemeier was driving a Ford F150 on a property lane heading south, according to authorities. At the same time, CCSO said a payloader was coming around the south corner of a feed shed. 

Officials said the payload was turning to go up the lane heading north, at which time the payloader and the pickup collided. 

The 42-year-old man who was driving the payloader was unharmed, while Kreikemeier died at the scene according to CCSO. 

Those responding to the accident were Snyder Fire and Rescue, Cuming County Sheriff's Office, Cuming County Emergency Management, Dodge County Sheriff's Office, and Cuming County Attorney's Office. 

This is under an ongoing investigation.
