Maintenance on 16th St. siren to no. 1 priority in Norfolk

The City of Norfolk said they will be doing maintenance on the outdoor warning siren.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- The City of Norfolk said they will be doing maintenance on the outdoor warning siren. 

The city said the siren, that's located at 1804 N 16th St. has not been reliably activating over the last few weeks. 

Officials with the city said they are aware of this situation, and they have been working on this siren. 

It was noted in the press release that the solution isn't a "quick fix." They said there are parts needed which have been ordered, and will be coming in soon. 

The city said that citizens who live in the area of this siren are asked to pay extra attention to other sources for severe weather information during this time - radio, television, social media, weather apps, weather radio, etc. 

City officials said the siren is a number one priority, and as soon as the parts are available, they will working to get it up and running as soon as possible.
