MADISON, Neb. -- A conservative Republican, ag producer and current member of the Northeast Community College Board of Governors announced her campaign to represent Nebraska’s Legislative District 19.
“As an ag producer, mother, and grandmother, I know firsthand the challenges that Northeast Nebraska families face,” Jeanne Reigle said. "It’s time that taxpayers, small businesses, and families had a strong conservative voice representing us. As your State Senator, I’ll work every day as a tireless advocate to protect the Second Amendment, parent’s rights, and fight to advance a culture of life and protect the life of the unborn."
Reigle’s record of service on the Northeast Community College Board underscores her belief in the role education plays as the pathway to success for all Nebraskans, especially in small, rural communities.
“I’m proud to have worked to make NECC a leader for Norfolk and Northeast Nebraska," Reigle said. "It has been an honor to have served in this role and after careful consideration, prayers and support of my family, I submitted my resignation to devote all my attention to campaign full time for the Nebraska Legislature. “
Her agenda includes fighting burdensome regulations and ensuring farmers and ranchers have the necessary tools and resources to sustain their vital role in feeding the world.
Collaborating with Gov. Pillen and colleagues, Reigle aims to address Nebraska's rising valuations and broken property tax system, specifically focusing on the challenges faced by producers, farmers, and families. Her legislative goals include removing trade barriers, enhancing access to precision ag technologies, and improving broadband connectivity in rural Nebraska so that rural communities can thrive.
Reigle, a resident of Madison, is no stranger to serving her community. She currently serves on the Northeast Board of Governors representing District IV, the Northeast Community College Foundation Board, was co-chair of the college’s Nexus Campaign for new agriculture facilities at the college, served on boards for the Elkhorn Valley Cattlemen, Preservation Madison, Inc., and the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, and Trinity United Methodist Administration board. She also co-chaired the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball in 2008 and participates in the Governor’s Livestock Roundtable.
Jeanne married her husband in 1982 and works with him and her in-laws in the Reigle family farming and cattle feeding operation. In the early 2000s, she and her husband bought the operation and renamed it the Reigle Cattle Company.
