NORTHEAST NEB. — The Greater Northeast Activities Conference (GNAC) will have its inaugural year for the 2024-25 school year.

Eight schools will make up the new conference: Elkhorn Valley, Hartington-Newcastle, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Lutheran High Northeast, Neligh-Oakdale, Plainview, Summerland, and West Holt.

In a press release signed by all administrators of the member schools, they “aim to create a dynamic platform that fosters athletic excellence, academic achievement, and personal growth.”

LCC, Hartington-Newcastle, and Plainview, are departing the Lewis and Clark Conference.

Elkhorn Valley, Neligh-Oakdale, Summerland, and West Holt are leaving the Niobrara Valley Conference.

Lutheran High Northeast joins a conference after formerly being independent.

Talks of starting a new conference have been in the works over the past few months.
