Madison man killed in UTV crash in Lancaster County

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A 45-year-old man from Madison, has died following a UTV accident on Monday, authorities said.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, Raymond Fire and Rescue, Lincoln Fire and Rescue, and Starcare, were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of First St. and Davey Road around 9:03 p.m. 

When officials arrived, it was reported that the victim was a passenger in a 2021 Kawasaki Mule UTV. The UTV was traveling westbound on Davey Road when the victim, who was attempting to change seating positions, fell out of the vehicle.

Witnesses reported that the UTV was in motion when the victim, 45-year-old Andrew Koss of Madison, fell from the back, resulting in life-threatening injuries.

Koss was airlifted by Starcare to Bryan West Emergency Room, where he later died. 

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
