Iowa man arrested for reported assault of Norfolk teen
NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Norfolk Police Division says they arrested a Sioux City, Iowa man following a sexual assault report.
On Thursday evening, the NPD said they took a sexual assault report from a 14-year-old girl.
The victim told police that on Wednesday, Nov. 13, she was forced to have sexual contact with 36-year-old David Davis. Law enforcement said she gave details of the incident to the officer.
NPD said a resident of the home called Davis and he agreed to meet them at a designated location. During the phone call, police said Davis made comments referencing the sexual assault.
A detective rode with the resident to the designated location to meet with Davis.
When Davis arrived, authorities said the detective exited the vehicle, and when Davis saw the detective, he turned and started to run away.
Marked police vehicles assembled in the area and arrested Davis.
Davis was arrested for first-degree sexual assault of a minor and resisting arrest.
