LINCOLN, Neb. -- Friday morning the Lincoln Police Department released the names of both the victim and offender in Wednesday's fatal domestic disturbance

They identified the victim as 21-year-old Michelle Gonzalez, of Lincoln. Her offender was her boyfriend, 28-year-old Ibrahim Alhamadani, of Lincoln.

LPD said their relationship was not released immediately, and they understand there was some confusion in regards to their relationship. Alhamadani's identity was withheld until they shared Gonzalez's as to not unintentionally, prematurely identify her.

Police were called to a domestic disturbance on Lincoln's east side.

Witnesses said Gonzalez was hit by a vehicle driven by Alhamadani. The good samaritans tried to take Gonzalez from the scene in their vehicle, which was also struck by Alhamadani.

Alhamadani then shot Gonzalez multiple times.

Police said he was found dead at the scene of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police said in a news conference Thursday that Gonzalez had filed a protection order against Alhamadani just hours before the violent incident. He'd been accused of assaulting her multiple times in the previous week.

LPD said they continue to be committed to uncovering the full truth of what happened as they work to find answers.

This is an ongoing investigation.
